FORERUNNER AND PROPHET OF GOD

Neville Jayaweera, is a forerunner and prophet of God. He received a powerful revelation of the completed work of Jesus Christ, and the fact that – through His death and resurrection – we have all been fully united to God. Everything flows from there, including the beautiful fact that Jesus, not death, is our true means of access to eternal life as a present reality now, on earth as it is in Heaven.

After his spiritual awakening at the age of 40, Neville sought to live ever more deeply in union with God. His life was characterised by profound spiritual experiences and ecstasies. He kept these private, sensing that it was not the time to share them, but he demonstrated the fruit of his ascended union with God as it flowed through his life to bless others in the form of healing, transformation and teachings.


Neville met Ann Shakespeare when he moved from Sri Lanka to London, UK, to work in a Christian charity. They both quickly discerned that God had brought them together as teacher and pupil, and Neville went on to mentor Ann for almost four decades.


Recalling the early days of their relationship, Ann writes:


"As we grew to know each other, I was drawn to him like a magnet. It wasn’t just because he was gentle and kind, or because he had a delightful sense of humour, though both were true. At the time, in my spiritual imma­turity, I couldn’t really explain why. Now, in 2023, I look back and can see why—so very clearly. 1]  The narrative of Neville Jayaweera’s inspirational life flows through the first part of each chapter.


Neville filled prominent roles in his native Sri Lanka, including being placed in charge of a vast, multipurpose development project, then appointed to restructure and lead the national broadcasting corporation. These meteoric successes in his career were followed by political treachery. He was a man of peace who suddenly found himself in the midst of a nationwide, armed uprising. 


In the midst of it all, he met the One he had—unknowingly—been longing for all his life. It was Jesus Christ. In his diaries, he described the experience as a “luminous encounter,” and it marked the begin­ning of radical internal and external changes in his life.


Neville was a faithful a Buddhist until his unexpected encounter with Jesus Christ. Excerpts of his diaries and personal correspondence reveal how this encounter brought him from brokenness and betrayal into a life characterized by joy and peace.

 

2]  The second part of each chapter is specifically focused on spiritual insights and revelations, and on practical teachings.


These extend a personal invitation to readers to pursue and to enjoy a lifestyle of encounter with God.
